The growth of Generator Hostels

Freehand was acquired by Generator, showing the increased global appeal for this sort of hybrid hostel concept.

Generator Hostels, mainly present in Europe, took over Freehand, US based and more F&B oriented, to create what is now probably the most interesting global group of hostels.

This subsector has great potential, and will continue growing in the near future, with large corporations trying to get their share of the cake (Mama Shelter from Accor, or Aloft from Marriott as the closest examples at the moment).
